It might have been a loose usb connection to the board causing rapid disconnects. I tested on ps3 last weekend and there were? a few random disconnects which caused the game to pause, but i was able to instantly resume. Wouldn't be nice if it happened in a tournament though!
I've seen secured the connection a bit better and hope to test it on ps3 again soon.

First testing of the Grand Hand View III. Works a charm! Didn't notice any lag effects that plagued the first direct feed test.
VGA signal passes through the device to monitor and then composite cable can go to tv/projector while s-video goes to recording equipment.
