It's a matter of degrees - we, here in 2012, can look at this and say "Wow, things really went downhill." But as a child of the 80's and 90's, I would say the same about today's music. People born in the 60's and 70's lived by this music, and as such? it was good to them for the most part. They didn't have a "look back" period like we do today. This song and all song of the 80's have their place in music history. To each their own.
