I owned a '76 Caprice Classic, and a '76 Mercury? Marquis and I loved them. Lots of muscle, and I never had a major repair. But the '76 Caprice Classic had the unusual reputation of being an extremely reliable American car.

He's just jelous that Britain didn't have nice cars like that lol... My oldest brother had a 1977 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz and it was the most comfortable car I've ever ridden in. The? seats were like pillows... I think the transmission only had 3 gears because it could barely climb a hill.

Those decades were all awful. We saw SOME good cars slip through the net, but for the most part, they were pitiful shitboxes that did nothing short of insult their glorious pre smog era predecessors. The Europeans and Americans are actually close to on par nowadays, although the? Europeans do have superior variety when it comes to high end cars (with dozens of manufacturers as opposed to 2 or 3). The Japanese had their glory in the 1990s.
