Marlborough forest seem the closest free hunting from Ottawa, is very fustraiting if you do not own the land, I got lucky this year, got permision to hunt in Constance Bay in my buddy's farm but I hear there are not many deer, to many coyotes,.... try going to the Minister of National Resources, (MNR), they have lots of info about crown lands and other hunting questions
